The Jackson's have been married for 45 years and have two very
successful grown sons and five grandchildren. Theirs is an
incredible on-going story. Jim was a very successful
businessman, becoming a multi-millionaire. On a visit to Brazil, he
encountered an impoverished medical clinic, where hundreds of people
were lined up for help. When he checked on why the long line was not
moving, he found that the clinic had run out of all medical
supplies. There was no way to treat the patients. Jim promised
the clinic that he would get them the supplies they needed. This was
the germination of a world-wide relief effort called "Project
CURE".
Jim and AnnaMarie came back to the U.S., rounded up the supplies
needed and shipped them to the clinic at their own expense . They
also decided to drastically change the lifestyle of their family,
including the purpose for their lives. They decided to live for
others, giving away their material wealth to focus on help those in
need. They dedicated themselves to collecting and
shipping urgently needed medical supplies to the poor all around the
globe.
As of today, Project CURE, with its network of 7,500 volunteers, ships an average of 2 containers of supplies per week out of the US. Each container can supply a large hospital for months. Over 100 nations have now been helped. This year, 125 containers will be shipped, with contents valued at $43,000,000! -all sparked from this one couple. Their decision to turn over everything to God has already affected the lives of hundreds of thousands of His children. Their son, Douglas, who holds both a PHD and JD (law degree) has now become the President/CEO of Project CURE. Jim does the advance checking of the recipient countries, flying continuously around the world. You can see more about their incredible work at www.projectcure.org |
